history/background

The Gamma Xi Foundation has awarded approximately $50M in scholarships to college bound students since 2009.

In accordance with the Boulé strategic plan, the Foundation (with the approval of the Boulé) in 2017 increased the yearly awards to $4,000 per year per student in a 4-year period. The scholarship grant is named for Gamma Xi Archon Matthew Carter.

It was the consensus of the Foundation that the $16,000 grants four students would be phased in over a 4-year period.

Marc Burnot (Bayshore H.S. attending Florida Gulf Coast University) was the 2017 recipient.

The Foundation is obligated to grant the recipients $4,000 per year assuming they maintain the agreed upon GPA and remain in

college.

The Foundation is committed to award and renew its four year grant to four students each year over their college life.
