PNC Wealth Management Hosts The Gamma Xi Boulé

On Wednesday, November 7, 2018, to kick off our Fall Season PNC Bank, 

Brad Goddard and the Wealth Management team sponsored a private Recognition and Awards evening at their business location to showcase a group of men making a difference in the Sarasota community. Gamma Xi Boulé Foundation - “Journey To Success” was attended by more than 75 interested clients, community leaders and citizens who wanted to learn more about the men of the Gamma Xi Boulé of Sarasota and what they are doing to help ‘Make a Difference’ in our community. These men of Gamma Xi Boulé are members of the Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, which was formed in 1904. 


The Gamma Xi Boulé is made up of 50 distinguished African American men of like interest and qualities who reside in the Sarasota and Manatee County area and are dedicated to making a difference in the development of our youth ages 15-18. The Boulé has awarded over $50,000 in scholarships to 1st generation college students. In addition, its “Journey to Success” programs include a Speaker’s Series at Booker HS and Lincoln Middle School; a paid internship program with local employers that hires students from Booker and Southeast HS’s and a Summer program for youth in Sarasota and Manatee counties. A summer program helps prepare students to participate in a skilled workforce for occupations such as vocational training, healthcare careers, workshops and mentoring programs on health and wellness, career development, life skills, education enrichment and financial literacy.


Sire Archon Gregory Matthews and Social Action Committee Chair, Gregory McDaniel presented awards to several individuals for their support of the Boulé Speaker Series and Internship Program, including Charles Clapsaddle of METV, Chief Judge Charles Williams, Pamela & Marcus Anast of Sarasota Collection Home Design Store, Nate Yoder of Mullet Aluminum, Chief Bernadette Di Pino, Myndel Miller of Booker HS, Julie Leach of WBTT, Brad Goddard & Scott Merritt of PNC Wealth Management, Matt Sauer of the Herald Tribune and Dr. Karen Holbrook of USF. The night was superb, Boulé members met with other invited guests. Everyone in attendance had a wonderful evening as they learned about this group of men who are working to “Make a Difference” in Sarasota and Manatee counties.


During the evening, a number of generous donors made contributions to the Gamma Xi Boulé Foundation, a 501 (3) c organization.
